MARK THOMPSON

President and GM, Global Defense and Security Solutions

As general manager of the global defense and security solutions sector at Arcfield, Mark Thompson is responsible for leading a team of experienced professionals who provide enterprise-level support to defense, federal, and civilian agencies through programs that manage, collect, analyze and disseminate critical mission data in support of cyber security, and missile/hypersonics test programs.


Mark is a seasoned profit and loss (P&L) business leader with years of successful experience leading defense and intelligence-focused professional services, software and systems development, and software sustainment portfolios.


Before joining Arcfield, Mark was the vice president and general manager of the mission support business unit in Peraton’s global defense and security sector where he led four operating units and 480 employees. Previously, he was the vice president of strategy and growth at Solerity, vice president of defense and intelligence business segments at TrueTandem, and a P&L leader and program director at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. Earlier in his career he served in a variety of program management roles at Northrop Grumman Information Technology – TASC (later, NG Information Systems).


Mark is a retired U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officer, having spent 21 years serving proudly in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility. His military career culminated in a Joint Services position as a plans and requirements officer with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Production and InnoVision Directorates.


Mark earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Elmira College, and a master’s degree in public administration from Tennessee State University.He is a resident graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College, a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
