JOHN AVALOS

Chief Operating Officer

John Avalos was appointed to chief operating officer in November 2023 and is responsible for the operations and management of Arcfield’s three business sectors as well as providing oversight of the company’s growth and technology functions. As the executive leader of Arcfield’s unified growth and operations organization, Avalos supports the company’s organic and inorganic growth objectives while also ensuring the company has the people, resources and tools necessary to meet and exceed current customer obligations while also planning for and addressing future mission needs.


John joined Arcfield in 2022 as chief growth officer and has been a driving force behind Arcfield’s early success. He brings three decades of combined government and industry experience, serving in various roles at executive, strategic and operational levels. He has proven success building and managing high-performing organizations serving customers across defense, intelligence, and civilian agency markets and driving growth for his past organizations.


Before coming to Arcfield, John served as chief operating officer at SOS International and led day-to-day operations for the company. Prior to that, he led the business development organization at Booz Allen Hamilton. Earlier in his career, John spent more than ten years at BAE Systems, serving in various leadership roles of increasing responsibility within the company’s intelligence and security sector.


Before joining industry, John served more than eight years in the U.S. Army, conducting intelligence operations supporting tactical units and national-level intelligence agencies.


John received his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Excelsior College, a graduate certificate from Marymount University, and a professional certificate from George Mason University. John also completed executive leadership programs at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
