MEETING MODERN TRAINING DEMANDS

High-fidelity simulations require substantial computing resources, which limits their deployment to smaller trainers, submarines and other constrained platforms. Additionally, traditional, largely static scenarios make it difficult to adjust training based on operator proficiency, mission objectives or changing operational conditions, and the absence of integration with live, virtual and constructive environments creates yet another challenge.

Without flexible, interoperable training capabilities, it is difficult to deliver consistent, realistic training experiences across platforms. And in a threat environment with rapidly evolving mission requirements, the U.S. Navy needs to prepare its operators by training smarter, not harder.

ADAPTIVE, HIGH-FIDELITY SIMULATION

Arcfield is developing a training approach driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that combines physics-based simulation with dynamic scenario generation. A small-footprint simulator is designed to maintain the fidelity of all world environment simulation (AWESIM) while reducing computational demands to extend advanced training capabilities to environments with limited hardware capacity.

The simulator feeds an AI/ML scenario generator that adapts On-Board Team Trainer Master Controller scenarios to operator skill levels and mission objectives. A containerized, cloud-ready architecture supports deployment within composable disaggregated infrastructure (CDI) and other environments, which enable realistic, multiplatform training tailored to evolving operational needs.

ADVANCING TRAINING READINESS

Arcfield’s approach is designed to expand access to high-fidelity simulation without requiring the hardware footprint traditionally associated with advanced training systems. This allows smaller trainers, submarines and other resource constrained platforms to support more realistic training experiences.

Dynamic scenario generation can tailor training to individual proficiency levels and mission requirements, which helps operators focus on the conditions and skills most relevant to their development. Integration across live, virtual and constructive environments also supports coordinated, multiplatform exercises that more closely reflect operational conditions. The containerized architecture simplifies deployment, updates and scaling, to help the Navy maintain training capabilities as technologies, threats and mission requirements evolve.

WHY ARCFIELD

Arcfield combines expertise in AI, ML, physics-based simulation and learning science to address complex military training requirements. Our hybrid approach connects high-fidelity simulation with adaptive scenario generation, which allows training systems to respond to operator performance and mission needs in real time.

Through reduced computational demands and containerized, cloud-ready architectures, Arcfield enables advanced training capabilities across a wide range of operational environments. The result is a flexible approach designed to improve training realism, expand deployment options and strengthen mission readiness.
